What is your goal when running a work from home business? Your goal should be to get highly targeted, high quality traffic to your website. One of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to drive that much-desired traffic to your website is through article marketing.

What is article marketing?

Article marketing is the process of writing useful and informative articles related to your product or service and providing them as free web content for newsletters, websites, blogs, etc.

Start by writing a short 250-350 word article about your niche. You don’t need to be an English teacher or have a degree in journalism to write effective articles. Write the article as if you were sitting down with the reader and having a conversation.

Once your article is written, you need to develop a powerful headline. Poor titles are the number one reason articles don’t get read. Use something that piques your reader’s interest. Ask a question, make a statement, or present a fact.

Once you have your article and title ready, you should visit one or more of the available article directories. A simple Google search will present you with a multitude of them. Personally, I post to one article directory exclusively: EzineArticles.com.

You may need to register with the directory or directories you choose to use. Once you’ve done that, take the time to read the rules and regulations for posting.

Before publishing your article in the directory, you will need to develop a strong Author Resource Box. This is the box that is left with your article when it is published in newsletters on websites etc. The resource box should contain your name, a few sentences about you or your product, and a link to your website. This link is how traffic will flow to your site.

If you write and submit even one article a day along with the rest of your marketing campaign, your work from home business will start to see more traffic and your bank account will start to see more growth. Use article marketing to give your work from home business an influx of new leads.
