Happiness and Positivity

For those of us who are still committed to achieving our personal and career goals, happiness and positivity are indispensable companions. The most important element in achieving either one is positive thinking. Positivity and happiness are a state of mind that is grounded on values and attitudes. It involves being optimistic and having an attitude of “I can do it.” For one week, commit to following the following simple steps and you are sure to add more Positivity and happiness to your life. Think of it as a one-week test.

Write down what you feel on a daily basis and determine if what you’re feeling is negative or positive. If you find that you are often negative, you might be suffering from toxic negativity. Toxins tend to cloud our judgment and interfere with our feelings of self-worth. One way to clear your mind of toxic negativity is to write down what bothers you and turn it around. If you find that you are generally happy or at least don’t feel miserable, then your negativity is coming from toxic sources.

Add positive thoughts into your daily routine. Replace your morning commute with a morning workout. Start putting positive images and thoughts into your head. Make it a habit to think positively even when things around you are not going so well. If you have to, push aside negative thoughts like your bills, money problems, family drama, and worries and put forth positive thoughts about your day.

Happiness and Positivity – The Purpose of Life Is Happiness

When encountering a challenge, approach it with an open mind. Don’t immediately label it as a challenge or a setback. Instead, acknowledge the fact that you just came across a difficult situation and that it will take time to resolve. When you get stuck in your own subjective experience, pessimism can get in the way of constructive positive thinking. Instead of immediately labeling something as bad, consider all possible outcomes that could happen. Acknowledging the possible outcome will put you in a more positive frame of mind and increase your ability to stay motivated and positive.

Lastly, if you feel overwhelmed or depressed, instead of turning to your negative emotions, shift your attitude to feelings of positivity. Taking in deep breathes, closing your eyes, writing down soothing thoughts and replacing them with feelings of happiness and contentment will help you work through the emotional roller coaster that comes with depression. Although depression is a serious and very debilitating condition, you can work through it and feel better about yourself when you approach life with an attitude of optimism.

While being in a positive and happy mood is not always easy, it makes us feel good. It also makes us more productive and happier. When we approach life with an attitude of positivity, we are much more likely to be successful and enjoy the little things in life. And of course, that is what happiness is all about!
