Google M Mum

Google recently announced two new additions to its product line: Google MMS and Google Wave. The first of these two products was introduced in May 2021, with the goal of combining two of the more underused communication features available on the market today. Google MMS allows two different messages to be transmitted simultaneously to a single contact. This provides a means for businesses to create word of mouth recommendations for customers they want to connect with. Google Wave, meanwhile, offers small business owners a quick and easy way to connect with their clients through their mobile phones.

With the introduction of these two new products, many wonder what role will the Google MMS play in the future of search engines? In a recent blog post, Kevin Collins, director of engineering at Google, stated that the company’s aim is for Google to become a device in which people dictate how they want to receive information. According to Collins, this will allow the search engine giant to make more complex search queries.

Google’s first foray into the multidimensional world of SMS came about as a response to Microsoft’s attempt to jump into the “notifications” game. The company released its own mobile operating system, which many speculate has the power to truly revolutionize the way we use our phones. In a blog post, Collins states that Google hopes to take this idea one step further and introduce the ability to send SMS from a device that is equipped with the Google MMS feature. Currently, the only known device capable of performing this task is the Google Nexus S.

What Is It All About?

The second Google MMS initiative will provide a much clearer means of interacting with customers. Google hopes that by combining the functionality of its two previous products, it will be able to create a simpler interface for sending text messages to customers. One such example of how this new service could benefit users includes the ability to view all of a person’s recent activity through their Google+ account. A person can also sign up for Google’s mobile messaging app, which automatically syncs all of a person’s recent activity from any given platform (including Google+ and Twitter).

As with the original version of Google’s mobile operation, this newest application will not be available on the Google Nexus S. However, it will most likely be compatible with the next two Android phones – the Google Plus and the HTC Desire. It is unclear at this time if the move will affect the search engine optimization efforts of these two brands’ existing suite of apps. It is also unclear if Google will provide similar search engine optimization solutions to other devices powered by Android. Google has not issued a statement regarding this latest addition to its social platform.

Even if Google’s new app does not directly affect current Google search engine optimization efforts, it does signal a continued commitment to providing its users with an easier way to interact with its products. This comes as no surprise considering the success of Google Wave. In essence, the search engine optimization company is looking to unify its various platforms (particularly its smartphone offerings) in order to allow its users to access all of their information from any given place. If it successfully rolls out Google M Mum, it will give users a simpler way to access their Google search results. Combined with Google’s existing apps, this could mean even greater organic traffic from the search engine optimization company in the future.
