Today I like to talk about an integral part of my career in computer science/technology. Unexpectedly, it is my skill in the game called Counter-Strike. I would like to pass on to my readers my knowledge that helped me to be considered as a kind of “expert” in the field of said game. More than anything, I want to teach you how to be the best at it. Also, I would like to discuss the meaning it has in my life and the potential it has to touch the lives of others as well.

I can’t imagine life without Counter-Strike (specifically version 1.3). Needless to say, you can tell I’m nostalgic about it. I heard about the latest version that the creators of Counter-Strike are developing right now, which is Counter-Strike Global Offensive. I can already see the importance of your experience playing Counter-Strike 1.3 in getting good at the latest version; which can be useful, especially now that in tournaments of these things, you can get a little over a million dollars in prize money.

So, let’s get to the heart of the matter: how to be good in Counter-Strike 1.3? Number 1, Glitter. Enemies are hard to see at the game’s default brightness. That is, if you are not the game server, this is a must (this may seem unnecessary, but believe me it is. It sounds pointless, but it is not). So, in order to do this, type “map de_dust” in the console. Wait for the console to take you to (guess where) de_dust. Then click ~, and type and enter “brightness 999” in the console. After that, enter “map de_dust” again. Wait until I make you dust again. Right now, it has the perfect glow that will surely help you tell the difference between someone who is your enemy and friend in the game.

Number 2: Controls. Before you even start playing, go to the controls part. Click Defaults. After that, change the way you can shop with F1 instead of B; and how to buy bombs with F4 instead of M. For those of you who are curious, this will allow you to buy weapons, ammo and bombs faster, making you more efficient in the game. Note that you buy ammo with F1+6 and F1+7, rather than the alternate version. Trust me on this.

Number 3: Don’t be the server as much as possible. This is pretty crucial. The biggest reason is that I couldn’t use technique number 1, which is the glitter part. There is simply no way to do it. Also, if you’re playing in an internet cafe, which is most likely (because that’s the easiest way to play with other people; trust me), you can’t just leave it at any time because you’ll be disturbing others. Players When you exit the game, other players will also be disconnected from the game. I wouldn’t worry so much about this particular technique, but I thought you should know something about it.

Number 4: choice of weapons. Let’s face the elephant in the room. The only best weapon option for the game is the sniper. Combine it with F1 + 1 pistol and you have a perfect combo. The key here is practice. Train yourself using the sniper so that you kill enemies accurately as quickly as possible and you will always be ready to go. Also, if you master using your pistol to kill enemies with headshots, that would be an advantage. Not that I’m exaggerating, you can try other weapons, but this would always be the perfect match.
Number 5: Strategic positioning in the game. It’s all about where you go in the game (the path you choose). The trick here is to choose the maximum efficiency. What I mean here is to choose your position in the game to balance your safety and your ability to kill enemies in the best way. The players of this game are very vulnerable. You can literally die in an instant. Protect yourself as much as possible without losing your ability to kill enemies. Since you have already chosen your perfect gun set, this would be like a walk in the park. With a sniper, choose a spot where you can use it so that you are concealed but still have the vision to hunt down your prey.

Number 6: Map Choice – You only have three options for this: cs_deathmatch, de_dust, de_dust2. Because? It’s really tempting to say just because when you’re already in the game, because that’s how it is. However, for beginners, it is because it would make the game more fair if you know what I mean. There is no special treatment and/or unfair advantage for either team. Therefore, players equally enjoy the game (which is always a good thing).

Needless to say, it has a significant impact on my life. More than anything, it taught me how to be a team player and accept defeat gracefully. It’s a game where you can be yourself, make mistakes, get beaten or win without pressure or judgment. Personally, it’s a good environment to be in as a child. I could also increase my technological knowledge. Despite its violent connotation, I don’t agree that it has a negative impact on anyone. So far, it hasn’t led me to be violent towards other people. On the contrary, it made me more compassionate, warm and social.

I hope this has helped you improve in Counter-Strike. Otherwise, if it made you curious about the game, great! Good luck playing! I promise you it would be worth it. Try it as fast as possible now!
