General description

Weslo (owned by Icon Fitness) currently produces four treadmills: the Cadence C22, Cadence 340 CS, Cadence 255DR, and Cadence C78. Prices range from $199 to $699 and uses cover walking, jogging, and running.

Weslo C22 Cadence

The Cadence C22 is the entrance to Weslo for walking only. The main advantage of the Cadence C22 is its cost, at $199 it’s hard to go too far wrong. The main drawbacks are that the track is not cushioned and the user must adjust the angle of inclination manually. Not having a padded track means it will be harder on the user’s back and joints. Adjusting the incline by hand means the user will have to get off the treadmill to change the incline.

Weslo cadence 340 CS

The Cadence 340 CS is a step up from the Cadence C22 and will allow the user to jog on the treadmill. The engine is significantly larger than in the C22 (2.0 hp vs. 1.0 hp) and the track is sprung. These features will allow the user to jog. The treadmill is not suitable for jogging as the track length is still a bit shorter than I would like, at 45″ it is still significantly shorter than many treadmill tracks on the market.

Weslo 255DR cadence

The Cadence 255DR is another step up in features and cost. The price is $699, compared to $399 for the Cadence 340 CS. The great feature you get for that price is that the treadmill has a power incline. Thus, the user can adjust the incline while exercising, without getting off the treadmill. The only negative about this treadmill is that the track is still a bit short (still 45″), so it is not suitable for running.

Weslo C78 Cadence

The Cadence C78 is the best treadmill Westo sells. At $699 it’s the same cost as the Cadence 255DR, but has a larger engine (2.75 hp vs. 2.0 hp) and longer track (54″ vs. 45″). It also has power incline and a heart rate monitor (which the Cadence 255DR also has).

Summary

Weslo has a treadmill geared toward the three main types of treadmill users. If you’re going for a walk you should just look at the Cadence C22, if you’re going for a walk and jog you’ll want to look at the Cadence 340 CS, and if you’re going for serious running the Cadence C78 is the model to look at.
