Most of the time when it comes to lighting design, the bedroom is quite neglected and usually left without any lighting design. The living room and kitchen are usually emphasized with layouts because they are often seen by visitors, and the bedroom is rejected because guests usually do not enter the bedroom.

Even though the bedroom is off limits to visitors, it doesn’t mean you have to leave it with simple lighting. In fact, you should even worry about putting in a lot of your own design and style when it comes to lighting because it is you who is using that room, not your visitors.

Furnishing your home with different lighting should not aim to please your visitors but to please yourself. You are the one who lives inside your home, so you need to find ways to make it as comfortable as possible.

The principles of bedroom lighting are the same as any lighting principle. There needs to be the right kind of task lighting within the bedroom, there needs to be ambient lighting to see things more clearly, and ambient lighting to achieve the right feel within the bedroom.

Task lighting is for you to finish your work or your favorite book. By placing lampshades and other forms of lighting focused on your work, you can set a tone within your bedroom as merely a place of solitude and comfort. This allows you to focus more on the job and gives you a brighter light to work with.

Ambient lighting is for security purposes. You will have to install lights that allow you to see the entire room and avoid mishaps.

Now, you will be able to see the entire room without the possibility of accidents or spills of the perfumes on your dressing table.

Ambient lighting allows you to have a dramatic feel within the bedroom. Softer and dimmer lights allow a more romantic feeling in the room, so you can sleep well or have a romantic atmosphere together with your partner.
