When choosing a travel destination, you may want to consider the multicultural delights of San Diego, California. The city of San Diego offers an endless variety of things to do and see. Located in the southwestern tip of sunny California, this city is just minutes from Mexico. In fact, Tijuana is visible from the south side of San Diego with only one border crossing separating the two cities. With passport in hand, a person can choose to spend the whole day visiting places within Mexico.

However, the abundant coastal attractions available to explore can leave little time for anything other than enjoying San Diego. Arriving at Lindbergh Field, the San Diego airport, a person will find a wide range of transportation available. Transportation options are as diverse as the city. The Metropolitan Transit System is inexpensive and runs through major areas of San Diego, including the San Diego Zoo and Wildlife Park. If you’re comfortable with individualized transportation, luxury taxis and hotel vans are professional and accommodating. Simply make arrangements ahead of time or contact the hotel of your choice upon arrival at Lindbergh Field and they will provide free pickup and drop-off. As you exit the airport, be sure to take in the breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean dotted with sailboats, yachts, and ships of all sizes.

Located across from the infamous Coronado Bay Bridge is the quiet and upscale community of Coronado. This quaint little town has beautiful boutiques for the shopping enthusiast and neighborhood pubs to relax with beer and burgers with friends. As you stroll the sidewalks of downtown Coronado, you’ll notice that the floral landscape is found throughout the city and its tropical variety is enjoyed by all who visit. Downtown Coronado is located a few blocks from Coronado Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

Minutes from downtown San Diego, you can find yourself at Sea World or the San Diego Zoo. These two destinations are a must-see for anyone visiting the area, but they certainly aren’t the only attractions to visit. At Sea World, the dolphins and their keepers put on a tremendous water show that engages the audience and it’s not uncommon for them to splash around to cool off, courtesy of the dolphins. Everyone who attends the show has a great time. The San Diego Zoo has a gorilla exhibit that attracts anyone passing by on the sidewalk, only a safety glass structure exists between park visitors and gorilla families for optimal viewing pleasure. While strolling through the zoo, don’t forget to visit the world famous Giant Panda Discovery Center. There is much to learn about the world of pandas.

While there is much more available to see and do at both the zoo and Sea World, be sure to leave plenty of time for a bike tour. Bike tours are available guided or self-guided through a bike rental. Biking is a great way to spend time on the piers and boardwalks feeling the cool ocean breeze and seeing the huge military ships in the harbor.

In the evening hours, downtown San Diego has some of the newest and trendiest nightclubs available within walking distance of local hotels. Many of the clubs offer live music every night. For an upscale casual experience, consider trying a wine bar like The Wine Encounter located at 690 University Avenue. This establishment features “Where good wine meets good friends.” Wine bars are known for their friendly atmosphere and are a great place to visit with the locals.
