Recently rehabilitated, Bob wants out of the crime game. However, a series of unfortunate events brings him to the attention of some shady characters, all eager to put Bob’s legendary abilities to use. Robber Bob is a stealth puzzle game where the goal is to steal a specific item and get out of the building… preferably undetected.

You move Bob with a virtual joystick, I’m not usually a fan of this style of control, but it’s not that bad here, mainly I think because the movement is slow and deliberate. Bob’s default movement speed is stealth, which was frustrating in the early levels, but a huge help when the levels start to get more crowded. Bob can run by holding down a virtual button to the right of the screen, this gives Bob a nicer pace but nearby people will be alerted to the excessive noise this produces. You steal items automatically when you get close to them and you will have to stay out of the site, you don’t need to go undetected, but if someone catches you, you are finished. For perfectionists, you can also try to get the prizes for each stage, one for not getting caught, one for finishing the job in the allotted time, and one for stealing everything in the building.

Each area has 15 levels and with 4 areas, there is a lot to do. Each area comes with its own story that begins with a comic-style storyboard, and each level has funny dialogue between Bob and his protagonists. The comedic nature of the story suits the visual style, the graphics are really good, and the level design is well planned. The objectives, hazards and obstacles are all clear and labeled and the sound is well put together, the music gives it a Pink Panther feel.

As you progress through the levels, Bob will meet more people, security guards, cameras, guard dogs, and the levels will become more and more complex. With your share of the loot, you can upgrade Bob’s abilities and buy items to make progress easier, IAP can also be used for this. This title is pretty good to play on the go, but to get a good feel for it, you’ll probably want a decent session to start with. Also, the stability of the app is very good, I haven’t had a single crash yet.

Robber Bob It’s quite an entertaining game, although Bob’s slow movements can be frustrating at first. The levels are well planned and challenging, especially if you want to try to win all the prizes. This is a good title for fans of puzzle games looking for something a little different, 4 stars.
