More and more parents seem to realize lately that children’s curtains add a certain decorative element to a room that other room decorations can’t. Curtains that come in certain designs or patterns help complete the look you want your child’s room to have or the look your child wants her room to have.

Some of the design ideas for your children’s curtains can come from your child and how he or she wants the room to look or you can create your room around a theme with curtains that add to the wholeness of said theme. Here are some suggestions you can try with your child’s window and drapery treatment.

Caramel Color Room. You can make your daughter’s room look candy-colored by using sweet colors like licorice red, cotton candy pink, and lemon yellow for the curtains. You can then go with these same colors and decorate the room in the same shades and buy sheets and cushions in the same colors as well.

TV character curtains. There are many fabrics these days that now come printed with cartoon characters and TV characters that your kids might love. You can have curtains and sheets made from these types of fabrics and surprise your child with them. There are also some sheet and pillow sets already available for purchase with these designs and all you need to do is create the curtains to complement them.

Hand painted curtains. You can try and make your children’s curtains as unique and as special as they want by asking them to help you paint a single piece of fabric. You can go for abstract colorful splashes and splatters or you can go for a themed design, depending on how your child wants the curtain to look. You can ask them for suggestions on this and make it a bonding event for you and your little one. You can even have these curtains tied with you or have one of your favorite drawings printed on these simple rolls of fabric.
