There are many, many restaurants to choose from on Sanibel. However, only a handful of Sanibel Island restaurants are consistently named favorites among locals, visitors, and tourists. Timbers and Sanibel Grill received “Best of the Best” awards chosen by readers in an annual poll of Island Reporter patrons.
Dine at Timbers for “Best Seafood”
In the past, the Timbers Restaurant has received “Taste of the Island” dining awards, including Best Steak Restaurant, Best Dinner Restaurant, and Best Seafood Entrée, among others. This year, Island Reporter readers voted Timbers the best seafood restaurant on Sanibel Island.
On the menu you will find the largest selection of fresh seafood on the island. Each day the menu includes a “Fresh Fish Report” which includes the fresh catch of the day. You can also enjoy dishes specially designed around these daily catches as part of the daily menu.
You’ll find all your favorites on the Timbers menu, including Florida Lobster Tail, Sea Scallops and Captiva Crab cakes. There is a wide variety of shrimp entrees to choose from, including skewered shrimp, steamed shrimp, baked stuffed shrimp, and shrimp scampi. Crispy Shrimp along with Crispy Grouper are two house specialties.
You can also enjoy your choice of dishes at Timbers, including a grilled or fried seafood platter or the Crispy Platter that includes crispy shrimp and crispy halibut. The triple shrimp platter includes garlic shrimp, crispy shrimp, and baked stuffed shrimp.
Catch the game at the Sanibel Grill
The Sanibel Grill was voted “Best Place to Catch a Game” in the 2010 Island Reporter Readers’ Choice Poll. The Sanibel Grill is now open Saturday and Sunday for football at 11:30am. You can watch college as well as professional football games on 16 big screen televisions.
You can enjoy a wide selection of soups, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and much more at the Sanibel Grill while watching your favorite sports game.
