One of the many ways to optimize your WordPress blog for search engines is to make your feeds work. What are feeds? Feeds are data formats that allow your visitors to subscribe and read your blog’s regular updates on an RSS reader. This can be done by:

1. By entering their email addresses, this way they will receive your blog updates directly to their inboxes.

2. Be their feed reader, they will be alerted if you have a recent post.

3. Delivering your feeds to mobile devices, for example iPhones, currently many people use smartphones.

You can use feedburner or feedblitz, but this time we will learn how to record your RSS with feedburner. It is feature rich and easy to set up.

Step 1. Go to feedburner.com and sign in with your Gmail account, if you don’t have one, you will want to sign up. Once you are logged in, you will be asked to claim feeds or enter your feed address. Leave this browser window open for now.

Step 2. Go back to your site and see where your RSS icon is. If you don’t have it, set your meta widget in the sidebar, just a few minutes to see where the “RSS Entries” link is. In some cases, this link can also be found in your footer. As soon as you find this icon or link, right-click and select “Copy link address”.

Step 3. After that step, paste this address in a box below this sentence: “Record a feed right now, type a blog or feed address here” (in the feedburner window). If you are a podcaster, check “I am a podcast.” Press the “Next” button.

Step 4. Fill in the title of your source that describes your blog. Example: Gardening blog.

Step 5. Fill in your feed address. Click Next”.

Step 6. Check the three-option button under “Feedburner Stats automatically tracks” – Click “Next”

Step 7. To get the email widget codes, click on the “advertise” tab. Let this window open. In the left sidebar, find “Email Subscription”, click on it and hit “activate”. Let this window open.

Step 8. Go to your WordPress admin page, install FD Feedburner Plugin, activate it. Then go to the FD feedburner settings and enter your new feed address in the box under “Redirect my feeds here” and hit “save”

Step 9. Go to Appearance / widget, choose the text widget, drag and drop it on your sidebar, give a title (example: Subscribe me) and go back to your feedburner window, find the code, copy the complete code and paste it in this email widget. code in your text widget.

Congratulations, you now have an email subscription form for your visitors and turn them into repeat visitors.

Tips: Choose the large RSS icon to make it easier to see.
