Kids love cookies! In fact, if you give a toddler a cookie, you might as well put one in their other hand. Give your kids even more love for this crunchy or chewy treat by baking cookies with them!

Think of each holiday in the book. Christmas, New Years, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc… Cookies are perfect for all these special days.

You can find cookie cutters for almost any occasion. There are endless types of cookie cutters; some are perfect for little hands. I love those big plastic cookie cutter jars.

There are all kinds of cookies that kids love, but for obvious reasons, sugar cookies are the most fun to make. Why? For the decoration part, of course! Load up sprinkles, frosting, small candies, and whatever else your little one desires and have a blast.

You can find a plethora of sugar cookie recipes almost everywhere you look, and many are fabulous! But if you’re short on time, just buy some refrigerated dough. (It also tastes pretty good.) Don’t eat too much raw (I know it’s tempting), you don’t want to get sick.

Making a mess of decorating is part of the fun! Lay out some newspaper, put on some aprons, and let the kids do the work. Baking cookies with the kids can create a lifetime of great memories and some delicious and fun treats that everyone is sure to enjoy!

As my great-grandmother used to say, “What’s a kid without a cookie?” that goes for girls too!
