The other day, I was reading about some researchers, I met a while ago who had come up with a composite of carbon and a graphene coating for a court that would be used in a certain sport. In fact, I immediately thought of some of the other potential uses, and it makes sense that maybe we should make bowling alleys out of these materials. At the moment, these materials are quite expensive, and therefore they are used for the space and satellite industry, and the military uses these materials for combat aircraft.

However, all this transfer technology is brewing and will soon be used in sports as we move into a new technologically advanced era with super materials. You may not realize this, but carbon nanotubes and graphene can conduct electricity. This means that a bowler can reproduce the exact movements and direction of the ball as it traveled down the alley, and even keep track. Imagine the incredible advantage of trying to improve your game by watching and observing the lines on the bowling alley floor, helping you visualize your consistency and ball tracking.

It would be a lot like looking at overlays of various hurricane tracks over multiple years, the kind you see during hurricane season when forecasters and the folks at the National Hurricane Center try to predict the track of any current hurricane based on past tracks. If you’re a serious bowler, you may have received some instruction over the years. Even if a bowling alley can’t afford to make all of their lanes with carbon and graphene coatings, they might want to make some using these materials, allowing bowling instructors to train novice bowlers using them. Yes, also for professional and serious bowlers to hone their skills for the upcoming cash tournaments.

Once you have such a system, a bowler could download his latest games to his iPad using a special bowling app. This would allow them to visualize exactly what they are doing; both right and wrong. It’s hard to say if anyone is working on these technologies yet, but given that they will be introduced to other sports, I would imagine it won’t be more than seven or eight years before you start to see these lanes used by serious tournament players.
