World of Warcraft, like many MMORPGs, is an open world for you to explore. Gaming has been taken to a whole new dimension, and it’s always exploding with leaps to the next beautiful evolution in graphics. Somehow, World of Warcraft has managed to capture our minds in recent years with a giant world for you to roam and thanks to the internet, real life people interact within it.

While wandering around Azeroth, Outland, or Northrend, you might come across some interesting character doing a lot of things. You might see some NPCs (non-playable characters) that are cool enough, or you might see other real-life characters doing things like RPGs, farming, leveling, or moving in a massive horde towards that newly released dungeon in the last patch for an epic raid. You will inevitably see other players interacting with their guilds.

Guild Types

A guild is a group of players who have come together for a similar cause to accomplish certain feats, achieve a certain status, or enjoy the game together in a certain way. The most talked about guilds are “Raiding Guilds”, these guilds are formed looking for players to perform certain skills in dungeons or instances in massive groups to defeat bosses in raids like Naxxramas, Ulduar and Trial Of Champions gaining rank in both their individual server, and worldwide community of World of Warcraft players. They constantly keep track of the statistics about the team and keep abreast of the content; You probably have a guild website where everyone communicates, discusses upcoming patch releases, strategies, and theories of the dynamics in this ever-changing game called theory crafting. Most of the players in these guilds just want to see content that without a guild you would never see. Then there are other guilds like our recently introduced Nepentheum guild who are interested in being recognized as one of the best looting guilds in World of Warcraft. These guilds are tracked by statistics, progression tables, and many other software tools developed both by World of Warcraft Blizzard developers and by individuals using the WoW arsenal.

There are also RPG guilds, these guilds are generally interested in the lore of the game and may have played the older version of World of Warcraft, as well as raid dungeons like Naxxramas, Ulduar, and Trial Of Champions. However, they are known for getting into character and pretending they are actually an undead warlock, or a self-consuming blood elf paladin who can’t stop looking in the mirror and flirting with his female counterpart. This can be weirdly weird when they get into a vent and realize they’re both being played by men. Many players who have a deep imagination and a lot of creativity choose to align themselves with these types of guilds.

forming a guild

To form a guild you only need a guild charter with 5 other players who are willing to sign that guild charter and form a union with each other by creating a guild with a common leader called “Guild Master”. Generally, the guild master is the one who formed the guild, and being a guild master, at least being a good guild master, requires a lot of patience, dedication, and time spent improving the culture and atmosphere of your guild. There are many aspects such as recruiting, ensuring materials are in the bank to progress through your guild goals, as well as discipline, and being the vouching face for your guild when they cause a rupture in the server community. . Your reputation is everything and it’s true that most guilds don’t last a few months, only guilds that have certain rules and structure last. There could be entire books written on guild management, and in fact, this is why we highly recommend the Guild Helper eBook, which has helped many guilds survive, grow, and gain recognition among other players in World of Warcraft.
