The Druid is one of the most versatile and complex classes in World of Warcraft, but with so many different options to choose from, your best bet to get to 85 is a Wild Druid leveling build. However complex a druid is, however, many players make some damaging mistakes that can significantly reduce their leveling speed. Read on and I’ll share with you some secrets about the perfect WoW druid leveling build for Cataclysm.

Why choose a wild druid leveling build?

First of all, it’s the highest DPS with the fastest regeneration resource. Energy fills up much faster than mana. As a Balance Druid, you will constantly run out of mana and stop to drink. Plus, you’ll use that same mana to heal yourself between fights. However, like Feral, you have talents like Predatory Instincts and Nourishing Instincts that enhance your heals and make them instant at no cost. This increases your survivability and leveling efficiency far above any spec, plus a wild druid leveling build.

Strategy for a wild druid leveling build

You have two options. You can tank dungeons for 85 levels, you can do solo missions, or you can do a combination of the two. The dual spec is ideal for this. If you don’t mind sinking, a bear spec will give you almost instant queue times for dungeons. During missions, a feral cat leveling spec is absolutely the fastest way to go. For the previous levels, you will end up with Ferocious Bite, until you get Rip at level 54, you can start flushing as soon as you turn up that heavy DoT. You’ll want to start the fight with Wild Charge, Pounce, Mangle, Rake, (One more smash if you need the combo point), and Rip. Don’t kill that mob, Rip will do it for you. Do an instant heal if you need it, and move on to the next one immediately, and shoot with a Feral Faerie Fire. Smash and rake five combo points and be done. With this wild druid leveling build, you can repeat this endless chain pulling process except when you run out of mobs to kill. Use this strategy while doing missions and the experience gains will be ridiculous.

Preparing for a wild druid leveling build

As a wild druid, you gain attack power in your Weapon DPS cat and bear forms, and agility throughout your team. Agility also gives you an additional chance to crit and dodge, making it our most powerful damage stat. With Nurturing Instinct, you also get additional healing power from agility. This is a great survival talent and shouldn’t be overlooked. Stamina is also important for your survival while doing missions. Obviously, the more hits you can take, the less time you’ll spend running away from mobs or going back to your corpse. With a wild druid leveling setup, you should only wear leather as it is the highest tier armor you can wear. You also get a bonus to agility after level 50 for wearing all leather. Also, cloth doesn’t have any of your DPS stats, so stick with leather. For secondary stats, Haste and Crit are your best friends. Haste regenerates your energy and Crit gives you extra combo points. I wouldn’t worry about stacking Hit until the end of the game. Focus on blast damage.
